    Our Family Christmas Letter 2018

Hey there! Welcome to our very first family Christmas letter. I don’t know what I am doing, so bear with me. Fun fact: I initially wrote this entire damn thing in third person, but it sounded bizarre so I scrapped it. “Bri did this” and “Bri did that.” Well. I am Bri. I am writing. My old boss would write this hilariously witty family Christmas letter in third person every year so I thought I should give it a shot. Turns out, I am terrible at writing in the third person. And, now I’m boring you with this lengthy explanation. Anyway. Incase you haven’t heard me mention it a thousand…

    Our family photos!

Let’s set the scene. We scheduled our family photos for late October and when the day came it was a mere 35°F (2°C) outside. Winter came fast this year in Minnesota. (Read about our first year in Minnesota!) As you can imagine, our little girl was not a happy camper. She is usually extra smiley, but you’ll notice that we didn’t get many photos of her smiling. We spent a lot of time running to the car trying to warm her back up. Even though it was FREEZING outside, I am still really pleased with how our photos came out! Working with Christa, from Christa Reed Photography was awesome. She…

Why I’m thankful for my miscarriage

I thought I’d be half in the bag when I posted this blog entry. Truthfully, I am sober and nervous. I’ve been flip flopping all month. Do I post about my miscarriage? Do I scrap it? Now is as good a time as any. Here we are, on October 31st and October is miscarriage awareness month. And as I’m sure you figured out by the title of this article, I’ve had a miscarriage. About 15% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage, according to March of Dimes. You must be thinking, “Thankful?! How is she thankful?!” It’s called ‘reframing,’ my friends.  It’s important to reframe your thoughts to move on. And…

    This or That Challenge

I was tagged by Elizabeth from Uncustomary Housewife for the This or That Challenge! I was so excited to be tagged, this was super fun and I loved learning about her! Thanks again for tagging me, Elizabeth! She has a ton of great content on a lot of broad topics: Housewife, Mental Health, Cooking, and more! You should go check out her blog or her This or That post. This challenge was fun, but comical because I’m also terribly indecisive. I’ll stand in the store for long time contemplating if I should buy an item (which drives my husband bananas). I did my best to choose one answer for each question.…

Read about our year living in Minnesota

It’s official, my husband and I have been living in Minnesota for a year. For those that don’t know, we moved because he got a promotion that was the next step for his career. Living in Minnesota has exceeded my expectations! When I first heard about the potential position in Minnesota, I didn’t know what to think. Minnesota, at the very least, seemed completely random. Minnesota is 1,500 miles away from New Hampshire (where we moved from). I hadn’t been to the Midwest before, and Minnesota? What’s out there? We took this picture a whole year ago, when we closed on our house! A lot has changed since this picture, I…

Tuesday Tidbit: Girls’ Weekends are Mandatory

Welcome to the second Tuesday Tidbit—a short post to inspire or entertain. [Read last week’s post.] For this week’s post, I’ve decided that girls’ weekends are mandatory. Say YASSS to a girls’ weekend the next time your friend/cousin/sister suggests it. We had an excuse for one, my cousin is getting married, but I think that we often get caught up in our own daily lives that we forget how absolutely essential girls’ weekends can be. We stayed in this beautiful cabin in the mountains for my cousin’s bachelorette and it was unforgettable. This post contains affiliate links. How to maintain your breast milk supply while traveling

Are you wondering how to maintain your breast milk supply while traveling? I did it! It is possible! I outline everything below: what I used, what worked, what didn’t work, and obstacles while traveling. Once in a lifetime trip My husband was kicking ass at work and earned his way into the President’s Club trip to Sardinia, Italy. (See more about our vacation!) But there was a catch – when the trip was scheduled, my little babe was only 2 months old. My sister-in-law volunteered to babysit almost immediately. I contemplated the trip for a while. So many questions were running through my head. Would she get sick? Would she…

    Our trip to Sardinia, Italy!

As I write this, I’m sipping on some Italian prosecco trying to pretend I’m still in Sardinia! Sardinia is an island off of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea. Everywhere we looked there was beautiful ocean and gorgeous yachts. What kind of career do I need to afford a yacht? Poltu Quatu in Sardinia I wasn’t able to grab a picture of it, but we saw the 4th largest yacht in the world while on a off road tour and it was as big as a cruise ship. Rumor has it that it is equipped with a submarine, incase the owner needs to escape the boat quickly. I wish I was that…

I was INDUCED – Our Birth Story

I don’t remember what life was like before our little bundle of joy arrived! She’s two months old, and I love spending every second with her. I recently met some moms and we all shared our birth stories, it was really interesting hearing about what the other moms’ experiences were like. So, I decided to write our birth story up to share!   Days leading up to birth I was due on March 29, and my baby was too comfy to leave. Once I entered March, my boss was convinced I was going to disappear at any moment. I had a feeling that my baby would be late and I…

    Should I hire a doula?

My experience with a doula Are you having a child in the near future? Are you wondering about your options for child birth? I can tell you all about my experience with my doula! According to dictionary.com, a doula is a woman who provides support during labor and child birth. I don’t think I can say enough good things about my doula. She was AMAZING. I don’t know how I would have delivered my beautiful baby without her support. (And if you live in the Minneapolis area, I’d be happy to give you her info! Leave a comment!) Why did I look for a doula? I first started looking for…
