Tuesday Tidbit: Take time to unplug

It’s Tuesday! Welcome to my Tuesday Tidbit series, a short blog post with inspiration, every Tuesday. Catch up on the last Tuesday Tidbit. This week, my Tuesday Tidbit was inspired by my beautiful cousin. Her wedding encouraged everyone to unplug. Put down your phone. Live in the moment. Dance like no one is watching. Okay, enough clichés. But seriously, it was a fantastic idea on her part. Last week, our family was on vacation in the lakes region in New Hampshire. We went home for my cousin’s wedding, but decided to turn it into a vacation to visit family. I began to stress about getting some blog posts done. I…

    Tuesday Tidbit: Make a List

Welcome back to my weekly Tuesday Tidbit series. You can read last week’s post.  This week I’m advising you to make a list (and a cocktail) when you are feeling overwhelmed. I can’t survive without lists. I have so much to do before Thursday, and I’m ready to FREAK OUT. My cousin is getting married Saturday and I’m the co-MOH. I have to finalize the speech (well, I have to start it too). I have to pack for our trip home, finalize the details on my husband’s not-so-surprise party on Sunday, clean our house, finish up two huge work projects, and the list goes on. But you know what helps…

Tuesday Tidbit: Make time for yourself

Here we are again, the fourth Tuesday Tidbit. A short blog post, every Tuesday, to inspire or entertain. Read last week’s post! I forget how valuable alone time is until I’m actually alone.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my family, but I am with them 24/7. Even when my little girl is at daycare, my husband is a few steps away. (We both work from home. We live in MN, and you can read about our first year here in our new state.) Here I am, typing this, actually alone. My husband is out golfing and my little babe is happily sleeping. I’m going to end this here so…

Tuesday Tidbit: It’s okay to throw in the towel

Hey there! Welcome to the third Tuesday Tidbit. Tuesday Tidbits are short blog posts, related to my life, that I hope can entertain or inspire! Read my first and second Tuesday Tidbit posts. Here we go, week number three — knowing when it’s okay to throw in the towel. My mom replanted the ivy from our wedding and gave it to me for my house. I killed the plant. When I moved from NH to MN, my coworkers bought me some ‘forget me not’ flowers. I killed the plant. (My dog also knocked it over a few times, so it was doomed anyway in my defense.) I had a bad…

Tuesday Tidbit: Girls’ Weekends are Mandatory

Welcome to the second Tuesday Tidbit—a short post to inspire or entertain. [Read last week’s post.] For this week’s post, I’ve decided that girls’ weekends are mandatory. Say YASSS to a girls’ weekend the next time your friend/cousin/sister suggests it. We had an excuse for one, my cousin is getting married, but I think that we often get caught up in our own daily lives that we forget how absolutely essential girls’ weekends can be. We stayed in this beautiful cabin in the mountains for my cousin’s bachelorette and it was unforgettable. This post contains affiliate links. Tuesday Tidbit: Take a chance!

Welcome to the very first Tuesday Tidbit. Published every Tuesday, a short blog post to encourage, inspire, or to simply entertain. This week is ‘Take a chance!’ This Tuesday, as the title says, I’m taking a chance and I’m encouraging you to as well. Do that thing that’s been eating at you. Why not? Life is short! Cliché of course, but where’s the comfort in this unpredictable world if we can’t all use the same overused phrases? What’s something that you’ve wanted to do? For me, I’ve wanted to chop my hair off, but I’ve been afraid. I’m a perfectionist and terribly indecisive. (Also why it takes me FOREVER to finalize…
