    Mom Adventures – April 2019

Hot n’ fresh out the kitchen I’m standing at my kitchen island as I am writing this. My kiddo is emptying our entire Tupperware drawer. It’s keeping her busy SO WHATEVER. And I’m just gonna take all the Tupperware and shove it back in the drawer when she’s done. We already season our food with dog hair, so a little dirt don’t hurt. Sometimes when I am prepping a meal in the kitchen, I find myself freezing when I hear the pitter patter of her bare feet approaching me. If I don’t move, can she still see me? Other moments we’re playing tag in the kitchen. She’s always “it”, and…

    My baby is one!

Happy birthday to our little love bug! I’m adding the finishing touches to this post and it’s currently 10:37pm on April 6, 2019. I started pushing at 11:30pm April 6, 2018 and she arrived about 2.5 hours later on April 7, 2019 . Read our birth story. My husband and I returned from a last minute Target run about an hour ago, and I’m just sitting down after we finished putting together all her little toys. How come some of the stickers are on the toys, and then some aren’t? Toymakers, why only some of the stickers? What is the logic on this?!? A discussion for another day. Tomorrow is…

My baby is 11 months old

My little girl takes adventures up the stairs and is obsessed with clementines. She loves books, flicking the light switches, and being held. She’s doing this thing… where… I can’t put her down. I’ve been wearing her because I need my hands free and she’s NEEDY AF. All the moms I’ve talked to say “oh it’s only a phase”. SHE’S BEEN DOING THIS HER WHOLE LIFE. HER 11 MONTHS OF EXISTENCE. ALWAYS. NEEDS. TO. BE. HELD. I have a love/hate relationship with this holding thing. I loveeee that she needs me, but I’m also not jacked yet so this isn’t benefiting me. Can I at least get some upper body…

    Mom Life – February 2019

Lately I’ve been counting the minutes until bedtime. The guilt I feel for saying that is terrible, but it’s the truth. I’ve been a little absent from my social media and the blog because I’m in this never ending state of exhaustion. (Little disclaimer: a bad day with her still beats a good day at the office. I’m so grateful that I get to spend so much time with her–just some days are hard.) Dad: *puts down baby* *baby is happy as a clam* *sky is blue, birds are chirping, there’s a rainbow in the distance* Mom: *puts down baby* *baby SCREAMS* *WORLD IS ENDING* She’s around 11 months now…

My baby is 9 months old!

My little Madison is 9 months old! She’s been outside the womb for about as long as she was inside. You can read our birth story. I’m excited to have written this post now because I will have a reminder of these good times when she’s a teenager and isn’t obsessed with me anymore. She’s basically a leech. I can’t put her down or she’ll scream. Yeah, my arm feels like it’s going to fall off, but I appreciate how I’m her favorite person in the world right now. From experience, here are the requirements to be a parent: You must be able to change modern pop songs into baby…

    Simple Nursery Decor

I’m really excited about this post, mostly because how much money I saved! I had a vision for this design in my head, a frame around the letter “M” (my babe’s first initial) with some flower petals scattered around. Feminine and simple. I went to buy a simple unpainted wooden frame at a well known craft store, with no glass, just the frame, and they wanted $50 for it! I was shocked. That was not what I was expecting and I certainly didn’t want to pay that much. After I gave it some thought, I decided it couldn’t be that hard to make it myself. I went to Home Depot…
